De Beers Best Practice Principles Assurance Programme

Sheetal’s business units comply with the rigorous standards of the De Beers Best Practice Principles (BPP) assurance programme, which covers business, human rights, social, environmental and mining risks. The BPP programme is based on the requirements of national law, and recognised, proven and established standards, such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards. All operations complete a self-assessment annually against the requirements and are regularly audited by third-party verifiers.

Several disadvantaged communities across India face problems such as: low literacy, inadequate medical facilities and natural disasters.
Sheetal Group addresses these problems in several ways – by donating generously to educational institutes, medical associations and relief foundations.The proceeds are used to fund the building of much needed infrastructure, facilities such as libraries, laboratories, etc in various hospitals and institutes. Sheetal Group’s charitable initiatives aim to make a positive and tangible difference within disadvantaged communities and works to enable the underprivileged to access good quality educational and medical facilities. Every year, as many as 20,000 children are educated through various institutions supported by Sheetal Group.
